Department for Unresolved Concerns

Public information

Frequently asked questions

What am I purchasing?
A personalised digital novelty that formally records the symbolic transfer of one everyday worry.
Will this actually change what happens?
No. The Office has no control over weather, decisions, messages or other real-world outcomes. It provides a formal ritual for people who have spent quite enough time thinking about them.
What will I receive?
Official confirmation of your case reference, assigned department and accepted transfer, provided as a personalised digital certificate by email.
What does it cost?
£2.99 for one worry. One payment, once — there is no subscription.
Can I transfer a worry for a friend?
Yes. The same £2.99 administrative fee applies. The certificate is personalised in their first name and delivered to the purchaser.
Will I receive further updates?
No. Once the matter has been received and filed, no further correspondence is scheduled.
Is this a real government department?
No. The Worry Office is a fictional administrative novelty service for adults. It is not part of the government, and it holds no public authority whatsoever.
What will you refuse?
Anything involving self-harm, crisis, abuse, violence, medical conditions, legal proceedings, financial hardship, children at risk, or identifiable third parties. These matters are screened out before payment and no fee is taken.
Do I need an account?
No. There are no customer accounts or case portals.
What if I lose the certificate?
Contact the Office with your case reference or payment email. Certificates can normally be reissued while the personalised order information remains within the Office's short support-retention period.
What happens to my information?
The personalised information and stored certificate are kept for up to 30 days for delivery support and payment queries, then deleted or anonymised. See the privacy notice for details.
Can I have a refund?
If a matter is screened out after payment for any reason, the fee is refunded in full. Otherwise the certificate is issued immediately on payment and the service is complete.
